2. Silent X Technology

XPC SN85G4 v3 has been enhanced with the latest Silent X technologies. The Silent X concept is embodied in a number of discreet Shuttle technologies, including: A 240W Silent X PSU, Integrated Cooling Engine (ICE) and Intelligently-engineered airflow mechanics.

Integrated Cooling Engine (ICE) Module

The Integrated Cooling Engine (ICE) included in the XPC has been purpose designed for whisper quiet operation. The ICE heat-pipe module uses convection cooling to transfer heat away from the processor. Copper tubing, coated in nickel and filled with distilled water provides the conduit through which heat passes to a radiator. A quiet, speed controlled 92mm ducted fan covers the radiator, providing both processor cooling and case exhaust. Every XPC uses this patented cooling technology to prevent heat damage and deliver some of the quietest computers available.

Smart Fan

Included Smart Fan features intelligently monitor and control system cooling fans. Smart Fan incorporates linear control metrics to provide optimal cooling. Under normal conditions, Smart Fan keeps the fan speed low, minimizing acoustic noise. When the load increases, Smart Fan increases the fan speed to provide optimal cooling. Better still, Shuttle’s Smart Fan lets you choose the desired temperature and fan speed to suite your ergonomic needs.

240 Watt Power Supply

The SN85G4 v3 features the “Super Quiet, Super Cool” Silent X 250W PSU. Tested in our acoustic lab from a distance of 50cm (many competitors take measurements at 1M), this Shuttle Silent X 250W PSU produces 32dB (or less) noise.

Intelligently Engineered Airflow

The XPC SN85G4 v3 features more air intake points designed to keep the motherboard cool and stable. The chassis and underside of this XPC feature strategically positioned intake points that channel cool air across critical components. These intake points are engineered—size and position—to minimize noise.

3. G4 Chassis

The G4 chassis uses our high-grade RefleXion material for the sleekness of a mirrored face without the obnoxious flat glare of 1980s bedroom decor. We have even added a subtle dash of holographic color accenting our logo.

Easy Installation

So easy, even a first time user can put a powerful XPC together in less than 20 minutes - From scratch. Removable HDD cages simplify installation, and pre-routed and clearly labeled cables make installing components an absolute breeze. You’ll be amazed how easy it is!

Incredible expandability

At only 18 x 20 x 30cm or one-fifth the size of a tower PC, the G4-chassis features amazing expandability. For instance, load this machine 120GB of storage, 1GB of DDR400 and a versatile dual format DVD Rewriter (black) such as the CR40, and you have a system that leaves a Tower PC wanting.
