Thermal Protection - [CPU Savior™]
BIOSTAR MICROTECH INT'L CORP. announced its [CPU Savior™] technology exclusively for new AMD-based motherboards. [CPU Savior™] is a hardware-controlled functionality which co-works with the new AMD Athlon™ XP CPU design and is a technology solely for AMD Athlon XP CPU.

To illustrate this technology, a BIOSTAR built-in IC is designated to detect the current CPU temperature. If the temperature is over the default setting, then the IC will report to the PWM IC to turn off your system immediately. It could be a wrong installation or a break down of your CPU fan, [CPU Savior™] just assures your CPU and system safe from damage.

The following demonstrates how to enjoy the benefit of [CPU Savior™] once your AMD Athlon XP CPU is at the risk of over-heating :

1. The temperature of your AMD Athlon XP CPU reaches the default limit
2. The system will shut down automatically
3. Clear the CMOS. (Change the default jumper setting from "1&2" to "2&3" for 5 seconds and back to the "1&2" setting)
4. Have a well-conditioned CPU fan; make sure the contact area between CPU and the heatsink is evenly
5. Turn on your computer
