Silent X Technology |
Silent X comprises of a collection of hardware design innovations, advanced technological features, and powerful software tools exclusive to Shuttle and the XPC. The Silent X PSU, Integrated Cooling Engine (ICE) heat-pipe CPU cooler, Active Airflow intelligently engineered airflow mechanics, mechanical dampening, and Smart Fan and XPC Tools software, all work together to ensure the XPC SN26P remains “Super Quiet, Super Cool” even under pressure when playing the latest demanding 3D games. |
Integrated Cooling Engine (ICE) Module |
Designed for the P chassis, the 4G Integrated Cooling Engine (ICE) in this model is based on the same concept that made the first XPCs a consumer success. The ICE heat-pipe module uses convection cooling to transfer heat away from the processor. Copper tubing, coated in nickel and filled with distilled water of specific pH provides the conduit through which heat passes to a radiator and is dissipated out of the system. A quiet, speed controlled 92mm ducted fan covers the radiator, providing both processor cooling and case exhaust.
Improving on the standard ICE module that is a part of earlier XPCs, the P series ICE module uses two fans in push-pull mode to more efficiently pass cool air over the ICE radiators fins. This makes it possible to deliver up to 50CFM. Further, both fans are PWM spec – which delivers finely tunable, linear fan speed control – and controllable by Shuttle’s Smart Fan technology. |

350 Watt Power Supply |
This highly efficient 350W PSU delivers enough power to support high-powered CPUs, high-performance graphics cards, and multiple disk drives while maintaining whisper quiet operation. Tested in our acoustic lab from a distance of 50cm – to create an environment similar to actual usage (many competitors take measurements at 1M) – the Shuttle Silent X 350W PSU in the XPC SN26P operates at just 27dB under normal load. |
Active Airflow |
The XPC SN26P includes our revolutionary approach to airflow design. Multiple points at the front, side, and bottom of the chassis ensure that sufficient cool air is drawn into the system to cool the components within. Warm air inside the chassis is channeled directly, using heat-pipe technology, to one of several distinct exhaust points preventing excess build up of heat within the XPC, which can result in loss of system stability, or component damage. |
Smart Fan |
Smart Fan incorporates linear control metrics to provide optimal cooling and noise reduction. Under normal conditions, Smart Fan keeps fan speeds low, minimizing acoustic noise. When loads increase, Smart Fan raises fan speeds to provide optimal cooling. Users can customize Shuttle’s Smart Fan settings to precisely match their desired temperature and fan speed metrics. |

P Chassis |
The XPC SN26P uses the new P chassis, a member of Shuttle's fifth generation XPC chassis family. The Shuttle P chassis has been designed with two major principles in mind, refined ergonomic styling and easy installation |
Stealth drive doors |
The P's clean fascia is thanks to three well-integrated stealth bay covers. The optical drive, floppy drive and front media ports can all be hidden from view when not in use providing superior style and visual appeal. |
Internal design innovation |
The redesigned internal structure of the P chassis allows for two 3.5-inch drives and one 5.25-inch drive. The internal drive rack offers space for one 3.5-inch and one 5.25-inch drive with another other bay located in the top portion of the chassis. The rack??s 3.5-inch bay can be used to install a FDD or HDD if desired, making the P chassis incredibly expandable and flexible. |
Toolless drive installation |
P chassis XPCs are based on Shuttle's innovative toolless installation system. Thumb screws, clip-on components, and easy-to-use drive brackets make setting up and configuring the XPC a snap, without the need for even a screwdriver. |
Integrated cable management |
To ease installation, improve airflow within the system, and reduce vibrations and noise, all cables within the P chassis are pre-installed, wrapped and clipped securely to the chassis frame. All that is needed is to add the components to create a powerful and tidy machine. |
8-in-1 card reader |
A standard feature in the P chassis, this card reader features support for 8 different memory formats. (Compact Flash I (CF I), Compact Flash II (CF II), IBM Microdrive (MD), Smart Media Card (SM/SMC), Secure Digital card (SD), Multi Media Card (MMC), Memory Stick (MS), and Memory Stick Pro (MSP). Operating at 480Mb/s (USB 2.0), this value added component makes it easy to transfer files to and from digital music players, cameras, and other multimedia devices. |
